A literature review is a well-reasoned, evidence-based, scholarly argument demonstrating your study's need. While your literature review will contain a great deal of information, it is not (primarily) an informative text. Keeping this in mind at the outset can lead you toward a critique that situates your study within the scholarly discourse relevant to your research topic.
